Worms and viruses
It is a frustrating aspect of life on the Net, but as long as we remain calm and dont believe these messages then we have a chance of a fairly normal life.
But ... watch out, because the people who send these emails are very crafty. I include below such an email, which also came with an attachment (Update-KB7015-x86.zip). This attachment has the appearance of genuine Microsoft update, so I thought I would check the Microsoft database. I looked up KB7015, and there was such a file but it was about faxing. I then checked for KB7015-x86, and only a page from Korea showed up on Google which when translated came up with a detailed report about it being a worm. It included the sort of message that people use for this worm.
Always double check anything which contains attachments, and don't assume that anti-spyware and anti-virus software will catch them I ran a check with Ad-Aware and with Avast, and they missed it.
Happy surfing:)
Our firewall determined the e-mails containing worm copies are being sent from your computer.
Nowadays it happens from many computers, because this is a new virus type (Network Worms).
Using the new bug in the Windows, these viruses infect the computer unnoticeably.
After the penetrating into the computer the virus harvests all the e-mail addresses and sends the copies of itself to these e-mail
addresses
Please install updates for worm elimination and your computer restoring.
